I can't take any credit for this but on Wednesday I attended a free social media surgery aimed at non-profit/Charity organisations to help them use social media to their advantage.
Apparently it was a quieter event than some according to event organiser Nick Booth - owner of Podnosh. We had a great time and I got involved with helping a charming lady with some computer issues. Most of the discussion was on a one-to-one basis so the information was detailed and specific.
For the next event I should hopefully be helping out in a more complete nature. This time I went with my wife to discuss the many ways she can improve the website for the small museum she works for (Erasmus Darwin House - Lichfield).
These events really do benefit the voluntary sector and the surgeries themselves are free and manned by volunteers too. This can only be a good thing and I hope to see them grow in strength and number over the coming year.
